Info overload...

Well, hello there..

It has been a busy few weeks for our Dolphins!! Our in-house meet was a great success!! Our first away meet was great, too- we held our own even though we were swimming against a team two divisions higher than us!! Rock n roll relay meet was fun as always and for such a great cause!!  Congratulations to the parents who swam in the parents' relay- impressive swims!!  Great job coaches in the coaches' relay too!!

This Saturday, we are back at home- swimming against Freedom, another team in our Division, so the competition should be fair and close! Unlike at our in-house meet, we now have to share the deck with the other team! Our families should set up on the far side of the pool deck, leaving the near side (by the Dolphin Diner and bathrooms) for our Freedom friends. Since this is a home meet, don't forget a treat bag for your buddy! Our Dolphin Diner will be open and ready for you with breakfast sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, tacos in a bag, snow cones, candy, and so much more!!  The diner only takes cash, so head to the ATM tomorrow!!!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RSVP FOR THE MEET AS MOVING FORWARD WE CANNOT TAKE LATE ENTRIES!! YOU MUST REGISTER BY WED NIGHT (6/28)! Freedom’s team is smaller than ours!

  • Relays Please know that the relays take place at the end of the meet. One absent relay swimmer results in an entire relay team missing a swim, so please look at the lineup that will be sent out and let Coach Briana know ASAP if you have a scheduling issue.

We still have plenty of volunteer spots for you to take….remember that wonderful discount you took at registration?! Now is the time to earn your keep and volunteer if you took that discount!! 😊 I will continue to nag until all of the jobs are accounted for.

MEET ATTIRE:

  • Central Maryland Swim League rules about meet attire:
    • Swimmers may wear a shirt, head scarf or pants over a bathing suit to accommodate medical, religious or modesty concerns.
    • Two piece suits or wetsuits may not be worn in meets. (Both are fine in practice.)
    • Swimmers can use tape to accommodate an injury, under certain conditions. A current doctor's note must be provided to the meet official prior to competing. The same note can be used each week, but must be provided at each meet. The meet official will make the final decision as to whether or not the tape will be permitted.

All practices are canceled on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4th due to the holiday. Practice will resume on Wednesday, July 5th.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!

Tuesday, July 11: Picture day. There will be an opportunity for individual pictures and also a team picture.  Swimmers can take individual pictures before or after their designated practice time. Paper forms will be distributed and an online form will be available as well. The group picture will be taken at 9:30. 10:00 swimmers will need to arrive early.

Saturday, July 15, 8:00 p.m. until they refuse to serve us: Parents’ Night Out at Molloy’s. A portion of your bar tab will be donated to your favorite swim team. Line up your sitters now and plan to have some fun with your fellow parents. For the fourth year in a row, we will be raffling off a Wagon of Cheer (read: enough bottles to supply your next party and don't forget to invite me!!!). I will be collecting donations (wine, beer, canned drinks, party games, liquor, all the things!!). I promise not to sample anything!!! 😊 Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Dolphins,. Raffle tickets will be sold at Molloy’s, but if you cannot come to Molloy’s and still want to buy raffle tickets, please let me know!! Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20!!  You must play to win....

Have a good rest of your week!!  I can't wait to check the volunteer jobs tomorrow and see them all filled!!!

Many thanks,

Robyn Cohen
