2023 Registration is open!!
Greetings, Crofton Village Swim Team families!
Welcome to the 2023 swim season! Even though it might not feel like summer yet- it will be here before we know it in a few short weeks!! We are so excited for another fun season of early Saturday meets, fast swims, big improvements, egg sandwiches, and lots of memories!
Here’s what ‘we’ means this year:
- The Dolphins will be managed by Robyn Cohen, who will coordinate logistics, volunteers and anything related to money. Email me at [email protected]
- Again this year, Rob Wittig, will be our Team Rep, in charge of running the meets at the table, scoring, and generally keeping us out of trouble with the meet officials. Tara Wittig and Andy Cohen will be there too- to help out where is needed and be our biggest cheerleaders!
- We are very excited that Briana LeBarron is returning again this year as Head Coach. All things swim-related should be directed to her at [email protected] .
- We are so lucky to have all of our coaches returning again this summer- Briana will be assisted by Lauren and Maddie Hamilton, Lucy Skippen, Violet Brown, and Aleks Wright.
Registration
Registration is open!!!! 😊 Last summer we switched from TeamUnify to SwimTopia and we will continue to use SwimTopia again this year.
When you visit the website to register (www.croftonvillagedolphins.com), click the Login button, enter the email address you’re using to read this message, and click ‘Forgot password.’ You’ll get a password reset email. Once you log in, you should see your Dolphins’ information pre-populated in the registration form.
TIP for separated, divorced, or blended families: Unlike TeamUnify, SwimTopia allows multiple logins for family members. If your family situation includes stepparents or other extended family members who aren’t currently listed and would like to be added, email Robyn ([email protected]) for assistance.
Registration fees are $125 for the first swimmer, $115 for the second, and $105 for any additional kids and a $25 discount for families willing to work at least five volunteer shifts during the season. Our registration deadline is June 11 at 6:00 p.m. For the volunteer discount, you’ll enter the coupon code VOL23 at checkout.
The usual housekeeping stuff:
New swimmers and returning team members who practiced in the half-moons at the end of the 2022 season need to complete a tryout. Don't worry -- everyone makes the team as long as they can swim the required lap(s) independently. The tryouts for returning swimmers allow the coaches to evaluate who will benefit from more time in the half-moons and who is ready to move into the lap lanes.
As required by Central Maryland Swim League rules, all swimmers and their families must have a household membership in the Crofton Village Pool and Recreation Association (CVPRA). Children who are registered to swim at the pool through a daycare provider or other extended family member are not eligible for the team. If you are not a resident of a community with automatic membership through your homeowners' association, please visit the CVPRA website to purchase your 2023 seasonal membership before you register for the team.
Pre-season dates
Thursday, June 1, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.: Tryouts and Team swim suit fitting
Sunday, June 4, 10:00 – 12:00 : Open House: Meet the coaches, swimsuit fittings, tryouts, ask any questions about the season.
Saturday, June 10, 10:00 – 12:00 p.m.: Tryouts.
Sunday, June 11, 6:00 p.m.: Registration closes.
Friday, June 16- 5:00 : Spaghetti Dinner potluck/ Meet your Buddy
Practices
The first practice is Wednesday, June 14th at 8:00am (or 9:00 or 10:00)- details to come about practice times for your child/children.
Wednesday, June 14 - Friday, July 21: Morning practices, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Evening practices will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 for team members with scheduling conflicts only.
Monday, July 24 - Friday, July 28: Morning practices, Divisionals and Straehle Invitational swimmers only

Monday, June 26: Rock n Roll Relay meet- Crofton Country Club (optional meet that carries extra entry fees)

Saturday, July 15: Away vs Five Oaks (8 lane pool!)
Saturday, July 22: Home vs Summer Hill (we will be celebrating our graduating Seniors)
Monday, July 24, 5:00 p.m.: Cameron Diamond Invitational (for swimmers not participating in Divisionals)
Wednesday, July 26: Straehle Invitational (location tbd)
Saturday, July 29: Divisional Championships AT Five Oaks!!!!
And the Season Finale …
Saturday, July 29, 5:00 p.m.: End-of-season celebration and awards.
